Fedor Emelianenko's got another award
On April, 25 a highly prestigious national sports award "Slava" ('Glory') was presented to Fedor Emelianenko. He won in a category "Fair Play" because of the incident that occured during the World Combat Sambo Championship when Fedor's final opponent got injured and couldn't continue and eventual gold medalist considered such win not fair enough suggesting to reschedule the match.
Fedor's mother Olga Fedorovna was there to receive this award due to the absence of her noble son.

M-1 Global announces the launching of the new project - TV reality show, dedicated solely to the Mixedmartial Arts. The title is "Fighting Fedor"
Fightcard "Fedor Emelianenko CUP"
On May, 15 the first International Mixfight Tournament named after Fedor Emelianenko will hit Nizhny Novgorod. Four teams will collide: Combat Sambo Team (from Nizhny Novgorod) against Team Europe, Red Devil FT (Saint Petersburg) against Team Spain. Winners will face off against each other in the superfinal in October, 2008 that will take place also in Nizhny Novgorod.
EliteXC on CBS
Here is the preliminary fightcard of the first EliteXC show on CBS scheduled to hit the major network station on May, 31. Kimbo Slice will headline the event in Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Bodog on Monday announced the retirement of Calvin Ayre from the company. In recent years, Ayre served in large part as the face of the company and reportedly was not all that involved in the day-to-day operations.

Vadim Finkelstein commented on the rumors regarding the possibility of the fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia: "At the moment we can't certainly say the bout will take place come July because the contract is not signed. However, the both parties are involved in the negotiation process and we are about to break the finishing tape although we haven't come to an agreement concerning every detail as of yet"

Martin Kampmann is back
On June 16th, 2007, Martin Kampmann was slated to fight Rich Franklin at UFC 72 in Ireland. However, Kampmann suffered a devastating left knee injury while training for the fight and he had to withdraw from the bout. Yushin Okami stepped in his place and lost a decision to Franklin. That propelled Franklin for a rematch with UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, you know what happened next. That title shot could have been Kampmann’s. So with a year removed from his injury, Kampmann will return to action on June 7th to take on Jorge Rivera at UFC 85 in London, England.
